This saree takes around 10 to 60 days to make and weavers families engage for hours in the weaving process of an Uppada saree. They still use a 300 years old jamdani technique to weave this saree. The warp and weft keep interchanging between cotton and silk and different combinations of cotton and silk together gives different texture and feels. Weavers also use lace or zari, dipped in gold or silver to give it a more pure look. An Uppada sari has a GI status which proves the authenticity of the quality.
